Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris born October 20 1964) is an American politician and attorney who is the 49th and current vice-president of the United States. She is also the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official in the United American. She is a member and former senator from California. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She started her career with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then she was recruited to join the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in 2010, and was she was re-elected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who advocated for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. A path to citizenship for undocumented migrants.
